About Our Osteoplus Classes
Who are these sessions for
Osteoplus Classes are designed for people in their middle to senior years who are experiencing arthritis, osteoporosis, delayed recovery from injuries or orthopaedic surgery, health problems that have resulted in deconditioning, or other conditions where movement can enhance recovery and quality of life.
Where are classes conducted
Osteoplus Classes are presented by our Physiotherapists at ToneHaus, A boutique Functional Fitness facility located at Unit 1 / 41 Cook Street, Busselton.
Busselton Physiotherapy Centre’s partnership with ToneHaus means clients can experience the comprehensive facilities of a functional fitness space in conjunction with the expertise of Physiotherapists leading the sessions.
When
Osteoplus Classes are presented between 8.00 and 8.45am Mondays and Thursdays of each week.
What's Involved
Sessions involve a circuit of adapted functional exercises that allow clients to work at their own intensity, find the right level of challenge and steadily build their capability.
Exercise will be presented with optional levels to scale up or down client’s workload.
Physiotherapist Support
Our Physiotherapists will support clients to grade exercises, adapt exercises to each individual’s barriers to movement and build their confidence. These sessions support clients to discover the joy of movement in a safe, social context and translate movement into a capability to live life maximally.
Home Exercise Integration
Our Physiotherapists can assist clients to integrate their Osteoplus Class exercises into home exercise programs to help keep clients to stay active and working toward their movement goals on days between classes.
Pre-attendance Assessment
Pre-attendance assessment with one of our Physiotherapists is recommended to ensure the class is suitable, set goals and highlight areas of focus or adaptation for clients as they engage in the classes.
Cost, rebates and payments
See fees section for Osteoplus Class fees. Clients can receive rebates under their private health insurance where eligible.
Multisession passes are available at a discounted rate.
Clients whose Physiotherapy is covered by an insurer or third party may be eligible to have the fees for their attendance covered. Please speak with our reception concerning eligibility.
Payments for private patients can be made in person at Busselton Physiotherapy, via phone or Electronic Funds Transfer.

Over the life span Social Health is increasingly recognised as a key component of healthy ageing. It encompasses an individual’s ability to maintain meaningful relationships, participate in society, access social supports and having a sense of inclusion and belonging. This is not a challenge for a small part of our community with 2024 data indicating that 1 in 4 Australians frequently feel very lonely. Coupled with the challenge of an ageing population, this is a significant issue.![]()

Physical and cognitive frailty have been studied at considerable length and receive increasing recognition as issues in home and aged care contexts. Social frailty has received less attention but is starting to be recognised as a critical dimension of healthy ageing. Deterioration in social health can indeed be a warning light for the pending development of other health impairments as we age.![]()

Leading international researcher Assistant Professor Dr Ben Ho from The University of Hong Kong was keynote speaker at the recent 3rd Annual TRACS Diversity Research Network Symposium at ECU. It was great to have been invited to attend Day 3 on social health with the relevance of this to my work in the fields of Persistent Pain Management where social activation and prescribing are central to strong biopsychosocial outcomes. Ben summarised the concept of social health and frailty with the phrase “To age well is to remain connected”.![]()

Some great presentations covering themes of meaningful connection across generations, with volunteer support systems, with communities of origin for immigrants, in the context of neurodiverse individuals and in the therapeutic alliances of optimal healthcare in areas such as persistent pain management.![]()
