What is an Exercise Physiologist?

Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP)

An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is a recognised allied health professional (such as a physiotherapist or dietitian) holding a 4 year university degree who applies a scientific evidence based approach to the health, exercise and sports science fields. AEP’s are the most qualified exercise professionals you can use.

They are governed by a professional body – Exercise and Sports Science Australia, (ESSA) requiring members meet strict criteria and are actively involved in continuing professional education.

We provide MOTIVATION and support for patients through a holistic treatment method. We motivate and empower our patients to achieve long term success by involving them in their treatment, encouraging positive changes through the inclusion of patient education and identifying and overcoming potential barriers.

We provide DIRECTION through applying a best-practice approach to deliver safe and effective individualised exercise programs to those with, or at risk of chronic illness or injury. While our fitness and strength and conditioning services are based on sound scientific and systematic principles.

Additionally, we provide comprehensive direction through all of our programs which include descriptive, customised instructions and clear images displayed as line drawings, colour illustrations, even photographs and videos.
