TELEHEALTH DIETITIAN SERVICE LAUNCHED
GeoBay Health Centre in Busselton has launched a new Telehealth service to give wider access to Dietitian services for those living in the South West.
GeoBay Health Centre have identified the challenge that many living away from the larger regional centres experience in accessing vital allied health services. Dietitian services are one such service.
GeoBay Health consider that many in in rural and more remote parts of the southwest are likely to benefit from this service. For many the time and cost of travel, or other constraints, may mean they aren’t easily able to travel to centres such as Busselton or Bunbury for such treatment.
GeoBay Health will provide a service that encourages clients to travel to Busselton for their initial assessment with follow up consultations being offered via telehealth. Telehealth services are provided via a secure video link that is simple to use and can work on Phones and Tablet devices as well as computers. Where required all services, including the initial assessment can be provided via Telehealth.
The Telehealth video consultations complement other digital technology the practice embraces to help enhance the benefits of service they provide. These include such tools as pre attendance surveys of health status completed online, emailing of information provided in consultations and online forms for customer feedback. Technology also supports client administration with online payment, bookings and SMS reminders available.
“Dietitian services can be of incredible value to clients with a range of both acute and chronic health conditions. Evidence is increasingly pointing to the importance of lifestyle and self-management as being central to assisting clients recover or achieve optimum health and wellbeing.
