Exercise and the risk of long COVID.
Join GeoBay Health Centre's Exercise Physiologist, Clayton Trigwell, as he discusses Long COVID and the implications for exercising post COVID 19 with Alex Shepherd. Clayton speaks with Alex, a local Pharmacist and director of BotikaCo on her Alex Unscripted Podcast.
Lots of questions still in the air about this virus however we do know that exercising during an infection or getting back into exercise too quickly after having covid can increase your risk of long covid.

Men's Health Week is a great time to highlight the importance of fathering.
We kicked off the week at the Man Walk with a great presentation from fathering advocate and author, Rob Sturrock on the changing role for dad's.
Local Psychologist at GeoBay Health Centre, Maryse Louis was keen to highlight that post natal depression in males is far more common that we often give credit for. Getting informed and aware of how the change to being a new dad can impact men is important. The PANDA website is a great resource and Beyond Blue have a good free download titled a Dad's Handbook: A guide to the first 12 months.
The Dad's Group of Busselton have regular catch ups on Saturday morning for a coffee and walk or playground hangout with toddlers and babies. See their Facebook group.
Reach out to your mates, a phone support service, or one of the counsellors in the region to help get back on track.
See links below for more information and to access the download.

Men's health week is a good time to reflect on how much the "You are what you eat" concept can apply to all kinds of problems guys face over the course of their lives. In this case prostate enlargement.
It turns out that your insulin levels (naturally driven by our diet) impact the risk of excessive growth in prostate tissue.

Local GeoBay Health, Dietitian, Nathan Beven, was keen to highlight that YouTube is not always a credible source of health information. However, he notes that this YouTube channel is hosted by an American Medical Doctor with 25 years of experience as a GP. In the video, reference is made to half a dozen peer-reviewed journal articles.
Definitely worth a look and if you are at risk, worthy of consideration and perhaps a conversation with your GP and/or an Accredited Practicing Dietitian. ... See MoreSee Less
