Referrer Information

As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist registered with Medicare, we are able to provide specialist services as an avenue for local General Practitioners looking to integrate exercise-based chronic disease management and prevention strategies into their patients’ treatment plan. We also provide effective and result-focused injury rehabilitation services that are goal orientated, evidence based, and clinically justified.

Our goal is to optimise participation at home, work and in the community, and achieve the best possible health outcomes for injured people.

exercise rehabilitation busselton

As you may be aware, current evidence supports physical activity and exercise as an integral treatment for primary and secondary prevention and the treatment of chronic disease. Where the correct dose and modality are used, it can treat many conditions including the top 10 chronic diseases in Australia. A collaborative approach with an accredited Exercise Physiologist has many opportunities to augment a patient’s primary treatment, help self-manage their current conditions, and/or prevent further complications.

Our success is built upon developing effective and active treatment plans employing a bio-psycho-social approach that empowers and involves patients in their treatment. This holistic treatment method encourages positive changes through the inclusion of patient education and identifies potential barriers by examining the multifactoral nature of the pain experience and dealing with common injury related misconceptions.

Individual Focus

We pride ourselves on our use of clear, individualised and easy to follow exercise instruction with illustrations utilising the latest exercise software.
This ensures correct adherence to exercise protocols and promotes independence through empowering the patient to self-manage their injury in the long term.

Local Network

We have a strong rapport with local gym and pool facilities in Busselton. This enables these facilities to provide prompt gym memberships for our patients so there is no delay in getting the patient into their exercise program.
Additionally, our location close to these facilities enables significant travel cost savings.

Efficient & Effective Collaboration

As return to work programs don’t always only involve physical activity, being part of a multi-disciplinary team of allied health professionals enables efficient and effective collaboration where indicated to enhance patient outcomes. In addition to Exercise Physiology, treatments available within our team include Physiotherapy, Psychology, Dietetics, Massage Therapy and Hand and Upper Limb specialist services.

As a long term Busselton resident and sole practitioner, Clayton offers a personalised service to patients that is local, accessible and familiar. Providing continuity of care and forming relationships built on trust are highly valued in improving patient health outcomes and cost-effectiveness of treatment.

Join the Man Walk Busselton on Monday 21st September to hear Mathew Mumme (Youth worker in both Australia and the USA) discuss his work and the complex issue of fatherlessness.
Interesting article on the topic by John Anderson (Prior Deputy Prime Minister) published in The Australian Newspaper earlier this month.

Black lives matter... fathers matter too - John Anderson
Black Lives Matters as a movement has played fast and loose with the facts regarding police brutality. It's the absence of Dads that is the real problem.

Wettest Man Walk to date on Monday. Deceptive blue sky at the outset but no visibility of the cape and a rainbow was a give away for what was in store. Well done to the 13 blokes that braved the conditions. Cleared up and air dried by the time we were back at the Goose to hear from the Man Walk community founder Mark Burns via Zoom from Kiama in NSW. Great to hear about the history of the movement and aspirations to bring Man Walks to all local government areas in Australia. Good aspiration, but they may not have heard that we still have 140 odd local government areas in WA so the challenge is on!
